Since the holidays only come around once a year, this is a great opportunity to put long-term storage into place for seasonal items. Long-term storage can be established anywhere. If you are like me, you will need to be creative in coming up with storage space for some of your holiday items.
For example, I have at least seven rolls of holiday wrapping paper that are half used. I know I won’t need wrapping paper with candy canes on it until next year, so it is important for me to find a way to save these rolls until next year. I choose some Under the Bed Storage Containers with the red lid. I love these because under the bed for most people is space that’s not used. Plus, the red lid gives me a quick visual that it’s a holiday box, so I won’t waste time looking for birthday wrapping paper. Under the bed storage is under used (no pun intended!) and should be used in every room that has a bed.

I protect my artificial tree using the Tree Keeper Storage Bag. There is a benefit to a live tree, because you don’t have to store it until next year, but I have made space in my basement for my artificial tree. Once the tree is in the bag, I place the bag on the top shelf of my storage area downstairs. If it’s the kind of shelf that you can’t reach without a step stool, then it’s long-term storage.

I have found countless uses for the basic 106 Quart Holiday Storage Box. Again, the lid is seasonally colored so I know what’s in the box with just a glance. The rest of the box is clear, which helps me easily identify the contents. I use this for all of my holiday odds and ends - holiday table cloths, stocking holders, candle holders, etc. These containers are great for general storage and are easy to stack on top of one another, which uses vertical space.

Since these holiday items are only used once a year, store them in long-term storage and out of your way.
