Organizing Your Garden Supplies

I may not have a green thumb, but I can tell you how to organize your garden supplies.  My kids and I did a little gardening this past weekend, and I was reminded that garden tools come in many shapes and sizes, from the largest of shovels to the smallest packets of seeds.  Here are some great items I use to keep my gardening supplies easy to find:

Plastic Baskets
These are great for storing smaller items, such as seed packets and gardening gloves.  I use a basket for fruit and vegetable seeds, and a separate basket for flower seeds.  The great thing about these baskets is they can be rinsed out if needed, and they have handles, which makes them easy to tote with you while you garden.

Garden Tool Rack
This is a great gadget that you can use with the freedomRail garage system, or you can purchase it separately and mount it directly to your garage wall.  This tool rack is the cure for storing gardening items – both large and small.  The hooks are great for brooms, shovels and rakes. The removable basket holds small garden tools or small waste bags. The shelf is a great place for your gardening clogs or the watering can.  This is a versatile piece that I use in my garage and is a must-have for any gardening lover.

Use Plastic Containers with Lids to store soil.  The lid will prevent messy spills and keep the soil fresh and ready to use. Plus, the containers are clear so you can see what’s inside without needing to remove the lid.  Also, you can stack several of these on top of each other if needed.

Creating a home for each gardening item makes a difference in the orderliness of my gardening supplies. Now if I could just purchase a green thumb, I would be in business!

Happy Organizing!
