Mudroom Take Home Assignment

Created on Jul 25, 2013

It’s back-to-school time! Soon you’ll be unearthing backpacks, coats, shoes, and other necessities to be ready for the trek to school every weekday. Let’s make this simpler. Your first assignment this school year is to take on your mudroom and make it an organized space for the whole family to use efficiently. Gone are the days of trying to find one missing rain boot, when at the last minute it starts to downpour before the little ones leave. Follow these tips, and get inspired by the examples to redo your mudroom/entryway/random-storage space.

  1. De-clutter. This mudroom/entry/random storage is about to transform into just a mudroom. You have decide what everyone in your family might need before leaving, AND when they get back, to efficiently design and coordinate your space.

  2. Add Style. Pick a storage solution that fits your style and your home. For example, Organized Living Classica is a built in system that can be customized for your space.

  3. Accessorize. Add shoe boxes, baskets, and shelving to create an organized masterpiece. Make sure these accessories don’t close you off to the contents, so that searching for that missing rain boot is as easy as possible.

I can foresee these storage units being successfully used in the shed for brooms and mops and other long items associated with cleaning. The spaces look perfect for an ironing board and hangers in a laundry room too. And in addition, I bet a vacuum cleaner would be perfectly at home in one of the cubbies there! Lovely versatile peie of furniture!
