When I first saw this makeover, I imagined myself in the space tackling laundry like nobody's business. Once, a job that I loathed, this laundry room makeover actually got me excited about the task.
So I did what any good laundress would do, I emailed Vicki, one of the talented designers at Practically Organized
, to hear the back-story on how she used Organized Living freedomRail
to organize her space. Vicki's Story:
"Having clothes hanging space beside the dryer made me feel cramped when I did laundry. So, in the 'final' design, I placed my clothes hanging area over the dryer instead. It works much better this way, especially with the frost wall on the side," said Vicki.
"This is my detergent shelf," said Vicki. "I had this glass drink container sitting in my basement for the past year. I really don't like having things that I don't use just sitting around. When I bought it, I thought I would use it, but because I mainly entertain kids (boys), a glass container seemed like a bad idea! So, I had an idea one night and decided to use it for my laundry detergent. This is much easier for my boys to pour into the washer themselves!"
"After putting these baskets into a couple of homes, I just had to have them for myself! I use them to pin "Lost Soles" and to put socks and undies in when I am doing laundry, Vicki said. "I LOVE them!!"
"This is a cabinet that I added above the washer to hold all my cleaners, sponges and clothes pins. It's easy to reach. The only thing missing from this is my stain removal chart on the inside of the door -- coming soon!!" ~ Vicki, designer at Practically Organized.
