Need more room for the car? Organizing the garage starts with a plan of action:

  1. Have a family meeting to decide what items need to be accessible at all times and what items should be located elsewhere.
  2. Remove everything from the garage while sorting items into plies such as automotive, trash or charity. Or, plan a huge garage sale with neighbors. It’s fun and will motivate you to clear the clutter.  
  3. For things you’re keeping, plan separate “zones” in the garage for tools, sports equipment, lawn and garden supplies. When planning your zones, be sure to keep convenience and safety top of mind.
