Closets store a lot of stuff! From clothes and shoes to jewelry and handbags. The biggest challenge we hear from our customers is that it's hard to keep track of it all. Most of us wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. Uncover your wardrobe to find your hidden style with these three simple tips.
- Purge your closet! "You must be realistic with your space and wardrobe needs," explains Amanda LeBlanc, professional organizer at The Amandas and Organized Living national spokesperson. "I always remind my clients that you can't fit 50 gallons of stuff in a 10 gallon container."
- Create systems that match your storage style. Your needs may be different than the next person. So a "big box," generic storage system is probably not the best solution. To truly maximize space, opt for adjustable, custom storage. This allows you to expand shelving, hanging space and shoe storage based on your personal needs and style.
- Accessorize your accessories. What? Okay, it's simple. Make sure you use organizers that keep accessories in plain view. For belts, use wall mount hooks, organize shoes in clear containers and store handbags on top shelves between shelf dividers.
